Healthcare Education and Copyright….

Be aware of illegal duplication of programs!

Be aware of illegal duplication of programs!

As a producer and even a distributor,  an issue facing the world of production is illegal duplication of programs.  Surprisingly, this issue is not limited only to Feature Films,  as we in education production and distribution face this issue regularly.

To avoid any issues with copyright and illegal duplication of materials,  make sure that you are purchasing programs from a reputable company that has a track record and proven relationship with the producer’s.   The legal ramifications for the individuals performing the illegal duplications is quite severe, however, as a an organization purchasing illegally duplicated content, you are potentially putting yourself and your organization at risk as well.

Things to keep in mind when purchasing content from distributors:

1) How long have they truely been in business?  Research the company first before purchasing the content

2) Look at the number of programs available.  It takes a VERY long time to build relationships with producers.  If a distributor, who is new to the business, all of a sudden has access to and is distributing hundreds of titles from various producer’s , the likelihood, is that they  DO NOT have agreements with the producer’s to do conduct business.

3) Ask to see an agreement between distributor and producer to ensure that you are getting content that has been agreed upon for resale by the producer.

These are just a few key points to keep in mind as we see the repercussions of illegal copyrighting on the rise in our industry.

Blocking Blue Light…….

Blow Blue LIghts

dramatics Non Fitover

There’s been alot of talk about the effects of Blue light and what it does for our sleeping patterns.   Blue light tends supresses melatonin.  Our bodies need melatonin.   Blue light is part of the light spectrum in sunlight but it is also found in light from artificial  lighting from incandescent and fluroresent bulbs or tubes.   Televisions and computer screens also produce this light.

By exposing yourself to this light in the evening, you are confusing the hormones in your body, in particular melatonin which is produced in the absence of light.  The presence of melatonin enables your body to ready itself for sleep and allows you to feel sleepy!

A team of three scientists out of John Carroll University, developed LOW BLUE LIGHTS GLASSES.  The threesome, combined have a century work of experience in high level physics and have one more than 100 U.S patents among them.

The effectiveness of the LOW BLUE LIGHTS products has been wonderful for our customers.   Customers tend to buy one pair of glasses and maybe a light bulb, and we tell them, we will give you 30 days to try these products out, if they don’t work, we’ll give your money back!

These customers will contact us, but rather then returning their purchases, they want to purchase more…. for their spouse and for their friends  and other family members who are also experiencing difficulties sleeping.

The product has expanded.  There are a number of Glasses in different styles from the Celebrities to the Traditionalists.  There are light bulbs, night lights and reading lights as well as screens for your computer and television.  You can see full list of LOW BLUE LIGHT products here

Whether you’re experiencing discomfort sleeping because of possible sleep disorders, insomnia, sleep deprivation, various mood disorders, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), post partum depression or many of the other health issues related to low melatonin levels can benefit from these products.

The following question was asked recently … Why would anyone want to be a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep….

I believe that good sales representatives know how to build solid relationships developed on trust with Health Care Professionals.  It’s very different then placing an Ad in a journal.  You can’t build relationships through journal ads.

In Pharma, the marketing departments need to start listening to their reps and need to help encourage the development of tools that are relevant and useful to healthcare professionals.   Tools that will help the HCP treat more patients and help them to improve patient outcomes.

If a Sales Rep is supported by the Pharma Company they work for in building this relationship model, then who wouldn’t want to be a Pharma Rep!  The HCP and the patient are winners in the situation, not just pharma!
